Wunderlich valve cover- and cylinder protectors for the BMW R nineT (Euro 5)
(PresseBox) - The cylinders of a boxer BMW are naturally predestined to be damaged in a falling over or slide. The spectrum ranges from annoying scratches, to grinding through the valve cover.
Due to the fact that the valve covers are mounted exclusively by force fit, there is a risk that they may displace relative to the cylinder head under any force and affect the valve train or the mounting threads.
Enough reasons to attach particular importance to the protection of the valve cover and cylinder.
The BMW experts at Wunderlich have the right protectors for all Boxer model series, including the R nineT.
The Wunderlich valve cover- and cylinder protectors are characterized by the fact that they fit precisely to the valve cover with a narrow gap dimension. This requires precise manufacturing.
The protector is made of a high-strength aluminum. Its protective component rigidity results from the three-dimensionally edged shape and the generous component thickness of 3 mm. On the inside, the Wunderlich developers have constructively integrated a high-temperature-resistant, shock-absorbing material. When external forces occur, it ensures that they are absorbed evenly and divided between the three solid fastening points on each side to avoid peak loads. The entire protector is rounded off by a 16 mm thick integrated abrasive pad. It is easily replaceable and serves as protection to prevent valve cover grinding through and the inevitable loss of oil that comes with it. In many cases, they allow the vehicle to be ridden on unhindered.
Wunderlich supplies a set consisting of the protectors for the right and left side and the necessary mounting material. The protectors are Made in Germany.
Wunderlich points out that the valve cover- & cylinder protectors are compatible with the standard BMW Euro 5 valve covers. Mounting on Option 719 valve covers is not possible for technical reasons.
