IDENTEC SOLUTIONS recently equipped it?s second port in California, USA with world?s most advanced terminal-based reefer monitoring solution Reefer Runner.
(PresseBox) - IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, a leading supplier of innovative wireless solutions, has been selected to supply one of the largest container terminals in the Western Hemisphere with the world?s most advanced terminal-based reefer monitoring solutions. Next to LBCT, the terminal becomes the second customer in California using IDENTEC SOLUTIONS reefer monitoring solutions. It complements the existing Terminal Tracker solution, which their customer uses since 2006.
The site is considered one of the largest container terminals in the Western Hemisphere with large acres of space, including 19 Super Post Panamax ship to shore cranes, 12 working tracks for incoming trains, and over 60 straddle carriers. The facility contains an on dock rail feature with more than 5-miles of a track, can store approximately 25,000 containers, and uses ship-to-shore cranes (?STS?/quay cranes), straddle carriers, rubber tire gantry cranes, forklifts, truck and vessel gates and more.
Their stated goal for the next decade is to become a fully automated terminal. To accomplish this, the site?s management planned for several phases of modernization, including the acquisition of Reefer Runner and Terminal Tracker by IDENTEC SOLUTIONS to monitor their over 800 reefer plugs, which are located in the newly constructed part of the yard.

IDENTEC SOLUTION?s Reefer Runner application will allow real time monitoring of reefer data with up to the minute updates on energy consumption. Terminal Tracker connects the container movement plan from the TOS to physical execution in the yard and tracks the vehicle fleet in real time, providing locations, status and historical movements. Thus, ensuring efficient and cost-effective management of the site?s logistics and providing accurate visibility of their inventory and container movements.
