APM Terminals? Vado Ligure container terminal in Italy equipped with world?s most advanced Reefer monitoring and management system
(PresseBox) - IDENTEC SOLUTIONS, a leading supplier of innovative wireless solutions, supplied APM Terminal?s Vado Ligure port with Reefer Runner, one of the world?s most advanced reefer monitoring and management solution, delivering visibility to the first semi-automated port in Italy. The system was installed in the first quarter of 2020 and went live shortly after.
The Vado Ligure container terminal is one of the most competitive terminals in Europe, combining innovation, automation, intermodal connectivity and the ability to offer fully integrated and complex services such as cold storage, project cargo, Ro-Ro and intermodal transport. With the container terminal being the leading fruit terminal on the Mediterranean Sea, handling over 600.000 pallets, a sophisticated automated reefer monitoring and management solution is needed. APMT chose IDENTEC SOLUTION to supply them with their wireless Reefer Runner solution. Eight readers were installed in seven different areas of the terminal ensuring that all relevant reefer containers can be monitored and tracked. Reefer Runner?s plug & play interface to Navis, the terminal?s current operating system, secured a seamless integration and smooth installation. Reefer Runner goes way beyond basic temperature monitoring. The solution provides true cool container management, handling the entire process while the containers are in the terminal?s care, allowing to access real-time data and reports via web-interface and, thanks to the optional modules ?Energy Monitoring? optimizing energy consumption and increasing efficiency.
