camLine announces version 7.2 of Cornerstone
New module verifies the robustness of processes and models
(PresseBox) - camLine GmbH, provider of software solutions for Operational Excellence, releases version 7.2 of Cornerstone. The new release of the engineering statistics application for fast experimental designs and effective data analyses offers a new module for sensitivity analysis. This enhancement enables the simulation of process and model robustness. The update provides several new random number generators and sample data sets. The performance spectrum of the Cornerstone ranges from analytical application areas such as technical statistics, artificial intelligence, and Design of Experiments (DoE) to exploratory data analysis.
The highlight of the new version 7.2 of Cornerstone is the analytical element for sensitivity analysis that helps you calculate how statistical noise in specific process variables (factors) may affect the responses of the same process. However, in order to be able to perform such calculations, two conditions must be met: the functional relationship between the answers of the factors must be known and the statistical distribution of the factors needs to be examined, e.g. using historical data or specifications. As a result, you get from the sensitivity analysis how strongly the responses vary and what distribution they follow. This helps you provide a very early forecast of whether you can expect a capable process.
