The earthquake in Haiti in 2010 was the catalyst for the founding of Polycare GmbH. The goal: to help people quickly find a stable home. Dr. Gerhard Dust, founder and CEO of Polycare, will open the 3rd European Chemistry Partnering with his keynote speech.
PolyCare was founded in February 2010. The mission of the company is the research and development of polymer concrete with the aim of creating affordable, comfortable and safe accommodation by means of interlocking polymer concrete elements. Especially following natural disasters and for slum clearance, on-site production ensures that those affected can build their own homes without the need for additional assistance.
At the European Chemistry Partnering the first lecture takes place in the plenary hall: The Keynote. An outstanding entrepreneurial personality is always invited. The keynote speaker talks about his life and entrepreneurial achievements. He allows the attendees of the ECP to participate in his career, and offers a glimpse behind the scenes revealing his most valuable tips for rules of conduct (Dos and Don?ts) of entrepreneurship.
Holger Bengs, initiator of the European Chemistry Partnering, says: "These days, a technology company can only be successful if it is aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Polycare is a textbook example, and has been for nine years. I am very pleased that Gerhard Dust, with his experience, achievements and successes as an entrepreneur, will set the impulse for the 3rd ECP. I find it particularly exciting that he began his professional career as a Manager in industry and only became a Chemistry entrepreneur at the age of 58".
Background:
97 percent of all products contain at least one chemical process step: renewable raw materials, enzymes, industrial biotechnology, new processes, products from residual materials, digitization, etc. are changing the processes in chemical value creation: starting with purchasing logistics on to production and finally marketing and sales. Interdisciplinary exchange is gaining in importance. With the ECP, an international chemistry community is growing that wants to derive more innovation from what already exists.
European Chemistry Partnering: A brief overview
The European Chemistry Partnering is an event format in which the focus is on discussion about innovation along the chemical value chain. It is aimed at decision makers, innovation managers and investors in the chemical industry and its user industries, as well as industry-focused stakeholders and qualified service providers and consultants. The ECP consists of the elements: Keynote Speech, Partnering, Pitches, Exhibition and Final Panel. Companies can describe their innovations in short presentations (Pitches) and arrange appointments via a software tool in advance (Partnering). The European Chemistry Partnering was conceived and initiated by Dr. Holger Bengs, Managing Director of BCNP Consultants GmbH. The first event took place on 16th February 2017 in Frankfurt am Main. From 2018 onwards the ECP will occur twice a year. In February the venue is Frankfurt. In late summer, the ECP Summer Summit takes place in changing locations.
