BTR NETCOM’s E-DAT modul hits the 10 millionen mark.
BTR NETCOM, a METZ CONNECT company, announced today that already more than 10 million single port modules E-DAT modul have been installed. What started 7 years ago with a prototype presentation at the exponet show became a unique and worldwide success story and made for the market leadership of BTR NETCOM in this segment. Precisely the 10 millionth E-DAT modul single port module started its “work” in the German Cardiac Centre in Berlin on 6th October 2008.
(firmenpresse) - It all started with the idea to develop, produce and distribute connectors – in 1976 Albert Metz founded the company that then continuously convinced customers year after year with interesting product innovations. This idea turned into a particular success with the presentation of the E-DAT modul prototype at the exponet 2001. Series production started in Blumberg in 2002. The revolutionary thing about BTR NETCOM’s E-DAT modul: it was the first fully shielded connection system so to speak with a “protection inside the housing”.
One of the reasons for its worldwide success and the resulting market leadership is the easy configuration of E-DAT modul. It is very compact, consists of only two parts and can be configured in the field without the use of tools. The sturdy and refined zinc die-cast housing and the reliable contact technology allow for more than 750 mating cycles!

These and other reasons brought Joachim Saudhof of the GHIB Service GmbH, an affiliate of the German Cardiac Centre Berlin to decide for E-DAT modul by BTR NETCOM: "The central operation theater was completely renovated in 2008 and so were its communication and data infrastructure updated to the latest state-of-the art. BTR modules were used here in the central equipment room as well as in the operation area with five surgical and one hybrid operation theaters. Special attention was given to the supply units in ceilings (operation theater lights) that made high requests to the data cabling by their individually adjustable suspension arms".

BTR NETCOM committed to a permanent quality assurance with its certification according to PVP (Premium Verification Program) at the GHMT and any customer has the possibility to inspect the status on the website www.ghmt.de. Today E-DAT modul meets the Cat.6A specifications and besides the permanent quality assurance and continued development it offers the reserves that are necessary for 10 Gigabit data transmission and now also matches the requirements for PoE (Power over Ethernet) applications.
In addition to sophisticated product solutions BTR NETCOM offers considerable warranty packages. With the Advanced, Premium or Premium Plus package there is nothing left to be desired. BTR NETCOM offers variable warranty periods of up to 20 years and they include not only the modules but also the transmission characteristic of the entire network.
Torsten Janwlecke, Managing Director of BTR NETCOM comments this success: „10 million single port modules E-DAT modul worldwide and the market leadership in this segment – we really take some pride in these achievements.
