Integrated Media Asset Management

The integration of a Web frontend is among the innovations of the CS MAM-Suite. It is also possible via the Web portal CS MAP to integrate partners or external employees without special training by means of the Web browser. They can assemble media assets individually, according to their needs, and use them. The Web application is based mainly on AJAX technology. Through the connection to so-called volumes, improved data organization has been achieved. It will thus be possible to manage all media assets stored in different locations, which provides the user with a high degree of flexibility. A record of use also ensures that any changes can always be retraced. Yet another great advantage is the ability to adapt and extend keywords and/or other metadata fields. These can be defined at random without programming knowledge. During this process the reading and writing access to the metadata fields is based on standards such as IPTC, EXIF und XMP. The customary flexible rights system by ContentServ also takes effect in the CS MAM-Suite. Thus it will be possible to restrict access right down to the file level. At the same time the suite gains points with the new editing functionalities: In addition to image editing, Word documents can be processed remotely via the Web browser. Moreover, full integration up to the CS Creation-Suite permits the extensive processing and management of InDesign files without an InDesign-client installation. The CS MAM-Suite will thus become the professional Media Asset Management solution by ContentServ.


Improved Web-to-Print Approach

The CS Creation-Suite, the wholistic Web-to-print solution by ContentServ, also demonstrates its claim to comprehensive Web-to-print publishing in the coming version. Many different requirements are accounted for: As a component of the CS Creation-Suite, the CS ICM facilitates the realization of complex print requirements with high data dynamics without making any compromises on the layout. Thus InDesign documents can be fully processed via the Web browser in the CS ICM. In addition, diverse InDesign functions such as snippet integration or the book function are supported. Furthermore, the user also has the layout table function and the page planner at their disposal. As a result of the wholistic approach by ContentServ, it will be possible to fill InDesign documents with different data centrally. These data may include, for example, media assets from the CS MAM-Suite or product data from the CS PMS-Suite, which can be placed simply via drag and drop, or automatically. Not only have the functions been extended, but also the administrative capabilities of the CS Creation-Suite. The rights system has been further developed with object-specific rules. This not only facilitates the use of content from other ContentServ modules, but the users’ possibilities for processing can be further restricted and checked for accuracy. Comprehensive notice workflow and version management both ensure the transparency and quality of the print material during the creative process.
