For lung cell culture exposure to smallest quantities of dry powders, particles and fibres
(PresseBox) - The VITROCELL PowderX Exposure System is the ideal tool for aerosolisation of small quantities of dry powders and particle deposition on cells cultured in 12- or 24-well sized inserts. It is designed for evaluation of pharmaceutical compounds and toxicological evaluation of particles and fibres.
Small powder samples of 1??100 mg are positioned in the quick-lock loading system. Subsequent aerosolisation of the powder takes place under high pressure by a unique jet system. The resulting shear forces facilitate deagglomeration for homogeneous dispersion into the expansion chamber.
Final deposition takes place via gravimetric settling. The height of the expansion chamber can be varied in three different steps according to the behaviour and properties of the powder sample. For handling of the inserts the expansion chamber can be seperated effort-free from the exposure module.
Key Features are easy handling and cleaning. The PowderX enables an intuitive user experience with touchscreen operation.
For pharmacokinetic (PK) studies the system can be equipped with continuous sampling from the basolateral compartment.
Installation and training is provided worldwide by experienced VITROCELL service technicians. After sales service is assured according to V-CARE service levels.
