Gold is the second most liquid commodity on earth
(PresseBox) - Gold and the US dollar behave inversely, i.e. if the US dollar rises, the price of gold goes down.
Currently, the US dollar is at its highest level in a year compared to other currencies. This is not so positive for exporters and for the price of gold and other commodities that are traded in US dollars. So gold is closely linked to the US dollar. Investors should not underestimate this. But investors should also remember that gold is one of the most heavily traded assets in the world. According to the latest data from the World Gold Council, gold has now moved up to second place, just behind S&P 500 stocks.

The World Gold Council s research uses gold liquidity data, global commodity exchanges, over-the-counter (OTC) markets and gold-backed ETFs. With consumer prices currently rising sharply and various uncertainties in world affairs continuing to prevail, gold could become even more of a focus for investors.
