Chemical distributor OQEMA expands its network with acquisition of Proquibasa, Barcelona, Spain
OQEMA continues to pursue its European strategy
(PresseBox) - The OQEMA Group has taken over the Spanish chemical distributor Proquibasa S.A. and will integrate the company going forward. The company, which focuses on the sectors of coatings, construction and adhesives; industrial cleaning, textile and water treatment; food, feed and pharma, has been active in the Spanish distribution market for over 40 years, and more recently in Portugal and North Africa.
Founded in 1966, Proquibasa is one of the leaders in the distribution of chemicals in Spain today, standing out for their great service capacity and flexibility. The company has two main warehouses located in Barcelona and Madrid and a network of warehouse locations across Spain and Portugal. Proquibasa?s range of commodity and semi-speciality products and their value-added services fit perfectly with OQEMA?s ?full-line? distribution offering.
Ivan Sanchez, who has successfully managed Proquibasa with a team of over 60 people since 2016, and who will be leading the company in the future, said: ?Our roots are medium-sized and family-run.
