Inventiveness a Differentiating Factor for Vendors of Access Management Solutions

Access Management with Fraud Detection capabilities are proving to be particularly successful as a clear differentiator

(PresseBox) - Vendors of access management solutions are increasingly trying to differentiate themselves from one another. To achieve this, they enhance their solutions in areas such as strong adaptive authentication, dynamic authorization, access intelligence, providing APIs and API security, fraud detection, automation, and using a more modern containerized and microservice-related product delivery. Access Management with Fraud Detection capabilities is proving to be particularly successful as a clear differentiator. These are some of the findings of the latest KuppingerCole Leadership Compass on Access Management.

The report provides insights into Access Management solutions deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or as a hybrid model. Solutions offered as a managed service are also considered when the technology is owned by the Managed Service Provider (MSP). ?There is a clear trend in the market to move Access Management solutions from an on-premises delivery model to a cloud delivery model. And even though vendors are helping customers to make this transition easier, there will still be valid reasons that organizations will need to maintain an on-premise presence,? says Richard Hill, Senior Analyst at KuppingerCole and author of the report. ?Because of this, it is safe to assume that a hybrid delivery model will be a viable option for the foreseeable future,? he adds.

Of the solutions analyzed in the report, over 70% demonstrate strong Identity Federation capabilities, while more than 60% show substantial SSO and Session Management capabilities. The majority provide solid Authentication capabilities, and more than half manifest considerable Authorization and Policy Management capabilities.

The report compares Access Management solutions from the following 27 vendors: Broadcom, Cloudentity, Curity, CyberArk, EmpowerID, Ergon, Evidian, ForgeRock, Forum Systems, IBM, Ilantus, LoginRadius, Micro Focus, Microsoft, NEVIS Security, Okta, OneLogin, Optimal IdM, Oracle, Ping Identity, RSA, SecureAuth, Simeio Solutions, Soffid, Thales Group, Ubisecure, and WSO2. Another ten vendors with promising product offers are listed in the category ?Vendors to Watch?.
