Busch Supplies Swiss Hospitals with urgently needed Vacuum Technology
(firmenpresse) - Within just one week Busch Vacuum Solutions equipped two Swiss hospitals with additional vacuum systems. The St. Claraspital in Basel and the rehabilitation clinic Zihlschlacht in the canton of Thurgau were each supplied by additional vacuum systems from the national sales company of Busch Vacuum Solutions. The vacuum systems were installed immediately and are ready for operation. In both cases, the vacuum systems are used to expand the existing vacuum supply in order to cope with an expected further rush of intensive care patients with coronavirus complications. The vacuum systems supply intensive care units and operating rooms in the respective hospitals with the necessary vacuum to suck off body secretions. This week, further hospitals in Geneva and Basel will be supplied with similar vacuum systems.

Busch Vacuum Solutions was founded by Dr.-Ing. Karl Busch and his wife Ayhan Busch in 1963. Dr.-Ing. Karl Busch developed the “HUCKEPACK”, which was the first vacuum pump that could be used for vacuum packaging of foodstuffs. The follow-up product, the compact “R5” rotary vane vacuum pump, revolutionized food packaging. A further milestone represented the development of the “COBRA” screw vacuum pump. In 1971 the international expansion of the Busch group started with the founding of a sales company in the UK. The first production plant outside Germany was established in the USA in 1979.
