BMZ Group ramps up production of Li-Ion batteries for medical technology - demand extremely high, in particular for ventilators
(PresseBox) - The BMZ Group, a major player on the battery market for over 25 years, is converting its production to accelerate its focus on Li-ion batteries for a wide variety of medical applications. Customers producing ventilators, in particular, have asked the company for its solidarity and support. In some cases, the volume of inquiries has risen by 50%.
The BMZ Group product catalog is extensive. The Group was divided early on into different product areas, in order to weather volatile changes on the market. Today, the innovative company has 3,000 employees worldwide, and delivers products ranging from batteries for power tools (such as cordless screwdrivers) to storage units for interim storage of CO2-free energy production (such as photovoltaic systems, wind turbines) to batteries weighing tons for industrial e-mobility (such as forklifts, excavators).
Regarding the current situation, founder and CEO Sven Bauer comments: ?We are all going through an unplanned stress test at the moment. Each of us is affected by the coronavirus, and we can see its consequences everywhere we look. We have all taken precautionary measures, and we discuss the situation in a daily Skype call, while gathering information first-hand from our international subsidiaries. For us, health protection is paramount. That is why we didn''t hesitate for a moment when we received a distressed call from manufacturers of urgently needed ventilators. We are in the fortunate situation of having access to an extensive inventory, allowing us to increase the number of batteries we produce for use in medical technology. BMZ immediately assembled a team to ramp up production. We?re not leaving anyone behind!?
Sven Bauer is in touch with his workforce as often as possible. The exchange of information helps create a basis of trust. BMZ is working actively to help fight the coronavirus, and relies on insight. The company addresses individual employee needs and concerns when making its decisions.
