Conference "Aachen Polymer Optics Days" postponed to autumn 2020
(PresseBox) - The safety and health of participants and employees is a top priority for the organizers of the "Aachen Polymer Optics Days" conference. Therefore, in consultation with the event''s cooperation partners and following the recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute, they have decided to postpone the event until autumn: The conference is now planned for 27 and 28 October 2020. The venue and programe structure will be kept unchanged.
Due to the current developments concerning the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19), the organizers have intensively dealt with safety and protective measures for the organization of the conference "Aachen Polymer Optics Days" in the past weeks. The organizers take the risk very seriously and are in close contact with the health authorities of the city of Aachen as well as the event center, the Hotel Quellenhof Aachen.
Reaction to the worldwide developments around the corona virus (Covid-19)
At this point in time, in view of the expected increase in the spread of the corona virus, this decision appears to be correct and important: the health security measures required by the Robert Koch Institute for the organization of events could not have been fully and sufficiently guaranteed.
The planning team for the conference, consisting of staff from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT, the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT and the Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and Craft at RWTH Aachen University, is currently carrying out the necessary measures for rescheduling. The organizers expect that the situation will improve in the coming months and that a safe and unrestricted realization of the conference in autumn of this year is guaranteed.
