Due to the travel restrictions in many companies, caused by the outbreak of the Coronavirus COVID-19, a real run on remote support systems has started in the past few days. "Many customers are interested in systems that can be used to communicate with colleagues in other countries and to support them on problems in systems without being on site", says pm-tech managing director Peter Mayer.
pm-tech GmbH in Regen, Germany, has been offering software solutions for 3 years, in which live communication between a colleague on site using smart glasses or a mobile phone and an expert in a remote location can be carried out via PC. In addition to video- and audio transmission, the systems offers a number of other features, such as a virtual laser pointer or the possibility to draw information into the live video that goes far beyond conventional communication programs. Especially for complex tasks, these features make communication easier. In addition to support in troubleshooting and maintenance tasks, typical tasks are very often the discussion of complicated technical issues.
In order to enable many companies to use this technology at short notice, pm-tech offers free use of the portal with mobile phones for a period of 3 months. All that is required is to install an app on the employees'' mobile phones, and the expert website can be accessed via a browser without the need for special software or hardware. Communication between two PC systems is also possible.
