Component for the "Smart Factory Elements" model
(PresseBox) - The control loop for the "Smart Factory Elements" model envisages that production is planned (Planning & Scheduling) on the basis of specifications from different sources and that this planning is then scheduled or executed (Execution). The data collected is analyzed (Analytics) in order to make predictions which, together with other findings, can then be included in planning. The Industrial Internet of Things supports this cycle by collecting and providing data.
Planning & Scheduling as a the focal point
In a Smart Factory, planning and preparation goes far beyond moving cards on a planning board. Instead, detailed production planning is characterized by complex relationships and general conditions that can only be optimally met with flexible IT tools. The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) HYDRA from MPDV is an example of such a tool firmly established on the market. Here, machines, tools, orders, materials, energy and personnel can be planned efficiently. The system takes all correlations into account and also provides automatic planning and allocation algorithms that make it easier for planners to handle complex production scenarios.
In addition to mere production planning, HYDRA also supports preparations in quality assurance and enables seamless networking of production and quality processes with operator self-testing. Maintenance and repair activities must also be planned ? HYDRA offers suitable functions for this purpose, such as the maintenance calendar.
Ultimately, the MES HYDRA meets all the requirements that the "Smart Factory Elements" model places on a modern IT tool for planning and scheduling.
