Do you trust your pilot-
How a modern Omnis Studio App drastically simplifies regular medical fitness certification for pilots and air traffic controllers
(PresseBox) - A web app from the Hanover-based company Schwerdtner Medizin-Software significantly reduces the cost of aeromedical certificates. It was realized in a very short time with the development tool Omnis Studio and is already being used successfully by many aviation physicians and flight personnel.
The previous procedure. Flight safety is a valuable asset. Therefore every pilot, flight attendant and air traffic controller must obtain a medical certificate on a regular basis, otherwise the flight licence or work permit expires. In Germany, as in the rest of Europe, however, this certification has so far been a laborious, bureaucratic paper war. Since many pilots and aviation physicians were dissatisfied with this procedure, Schwerdtner Medizin-Software has developed an app that is available on desktops as well as on the web and mobile. "It was particularly important for us to achieve good process integration," emphasizes owner Christoph Schwerdtner.
Simplification and time saving with Q.MED-AERO. The new Q.MED-AERO solution therefore includes doctors who work with an Omnis application on the desktop, and pilots, flight attendants and air traffic controllers who complete their application for an aeromedical certificate from home or on the road by mobile phone or with the web app. A separate app for this purpose is also available in the Apple AppStore. Pilots record their data which is stored centrally in a strongly encrypted database that can only be accessed by the pilot and the authorized doctor with a token.
A major advantage for the aviation physician is that all captured and validated pilot data is complete and correct, eliminating the need for manual data capture. Finally, Schwerdtner Medizin-Software has developed an interface with Omnis, which can be used to automatically transmit the doctor''s data to the German Federal Aviation Authority.
Development with Omnis Studio. For the development of the Q.MED-AERO app Schwerdtner Medizin-Software GmbH has selected the tool Omnis Studio. "We chose Omnis Studio because we can develop all solutions in a fraction of the usual time with just one development environment. Desktop applications for Windows and MacOS are just as possible as web-based solutions. In the 30 years we''ve been working with Omnis, we haven''t found another tool that is anywhere near as flexible," says Christoph Schwerdtner, founder and owner of Schwerdtner Medizin-Software GmbH.
