SIG benefits from the integration of the PLM system CIM DATABASE in PARTsolutions by CADENAS
Parts management enables the migration of component data for manufacturers of packaging machines even with CAD&PLM software environment change
(PresseBox) - SIG Combibloc GmbH has been using the CADENAS Strategic Parts Management PARTsolutions successfully since 2005 for its standard, purchased and repeat parts. For 2019, the leading system and solution provider for aseptic packaging is planning a change of its previous CAD/PLM software environment. The software solution PARTsolutions by CADENAS supports the migration of the SIG parts data, as the engineering data of the numerous catalogs can also be used in the native format of the CAD system SOLIDWORKS. Moreover, PARTsolutions makes possible the management of SIG components within the PLM systems CIM DATABASE by means of deep integration. SIG purchasing, design and standardization thus keep an eye on all scientific and technical information of the components without changing systems.
"We are pleased that SIG has chosen to use PARTsolutions as an integrated standard and purchased parts managment system also for the new CAD/PLM environment," says Markus Poppinghuys of the CADENAS subsidiary in Essen. "The PARTsolutions interfaces to SOLIDWORKS and CIM DATABASE makes the creation of standard and purchased parts at SIG Combibloc possible in native CAD format for the components previously used in 3D assemblies. Thus, the migration project is supported by optimum CAD and master data quality."
