Avis and Budget to partner with CityQ offering the new type of weather protected E-bike to urban customers in Scandinavia
Avis and Budget expand their rental operation to include a broad range of vehicles to be offered as a part of its new mobility service
(PresseBox) - The agencies plan to include CityQ in their new mobility service where corporations and residential areas get access to a fleet of ebikes, CityQ?s and a range of electric and traditional cars.
The customers pay according to a flexible combination of subscription and usage.
?CityQ is an attractive alternative to bicycling in bad weather ? and to reduce the number of short car trips. And in inner cities where car traffic are restricted there is an increasing need for such new vehicles, ? according to Morten Torp who is responsible for the Scandinavian mobility services for Avis and Budget.
CityQ has developed a high end year-round ebike, with weather protection, 4 wheels, capacity of 3 persons, plus baggage. With 239 days of rain and frost there is a substantial need for weather protected bicycling. The vehicle is registered as a cargo ebike to be used in bike lanes and car free areas. It?s required to peddle and has an ebike 250W engine with max speed of 25km/h.
CityQ has 1-2 batteries offering a range of 70-100km without charging. An additional feature is the roof solar panel to add more mileage without charging.
CityQ can replace all those short car trips such as delivering children on way to job, shopping, after-school activities or getting around in car free areas. And a growing target group is millennials not having driving licenses.
The parties have agreed to test the new mobility service together in Scandinavia and search for innovating corporations and residential areas to be the first to use the broad range of vehicles.
As cars are restricted within cities, we need new urban transportation alternatives. Imagine your next city car being an ebike. CityQ means no traffic and parking issues, no taxes, no worries about the weather. Just comfortable, flexible and fast urban mobility.
