5 Cheap and Cheerful Ski Resorts in Europe

Borovets, Bulgaria
The oldest ski resort in Bulgaria, Borovets is the very definition of cheap and cheerful. It is much loved by young groups looking for lively parties once the sun goes down. The skiing is also excellent: there are wide, open pistes mainly above the tree line and slopes that are best suited to beginners and intermediates. Borovets is well-known for its ski schools, so those looking to develop their skills will appreciate this affordable resort, too.
Andermatt, Switzerland
Switzerland is famously a wealthy place, but skiing in Andermatt can be surprisingly af-fordable. It features two main skiing areas: one is situated at a lofty altitude of 2,963m and provides fantastic powder. Andermatt is also a good place for those looking for plenty of fun away from the pistes, as it features snowshoeing, sledging, swimming, spa days and lots more to keep visitors entertained.
Westendorf, Austria
