Kleinostheim/Strasbourg – 22 February 2017. UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH & Co. KG (UTA) has appointed Christian Wittmer as new Country Manager for UTA France S.a.r.l. As of 01/03/2017, the 53-year-old will manage the business in Strasbourg and report directly to Simone Sguizzardi, Head of Western Europe. His main responsibilities include the expansion of the sales activities of the fuel and service card provider in France and strengthening their market position at the same time. Wittmer succeeds Jean-Marc Muller, who will retire on 31 March 2017.

"At the same time, I am delighted to have gained Christian Wittmer as a qualified successor for this demanding position; Mr Wittmer has excellent social skills and many years of operational experience."
Until he joined UTA, Wittmer held a leading position with restaurant voucher and service card provider Edenred France for 15 years, most recently as sales director fuel cards. In this role, he was responsible for the training of sales representatives and the French market launch of the Ticket Fleet Pro fuel card, through which in 2017 ten million litres of fuel are expected to be sold. Prior to that, Wittmer was a partner at the French event agency ARTEIS for eight years, where he headed commercial development and event logistics.
