(firmenpresse) - As a popular European Alpine ski destination, Chamonix features some of the highest accessible piste and off-piste ski opportunities, making it the go-to resort for ski enthusiasts. Of course, once a day on the slopes is done, you and your mates will want to get out and experience the best après-ski fun Chamonix has to offer. Here are some of the more popular spots in the area.
La Terrasse
Located at the edge of the river, La Terrasse features a terrace with impressive views of the central square and Mont Blanc. Listen to the live band perform or head upstairs to the classy lounge space to relax with a cocktail in hand. Happy hours are 3:00pm-6:00pm and 9:00pm-10:00pm.
Le Vagabond
Le Vagabond attracts a friendly, upbeat crowd who gather to eat, drink and be merry. You’ll have a choice of enjoying a drink in front of a roaring, open log fire; sitting at the bar and watching a sporting event on the big screen; or heading out onto the terrace to take in the spectacular views of Mont Blanc. Stop in at happy hour, between 4:30pm and 6:30pm, to sample some single malts and snack on some tasty bar food that’s served at 5:30pm.
Chambre Neuf
Meet up with old friends and meet new ones at Chambre Neuf, a bar located at the top end of town, near the train station. This place gets quite lively starting at around 5:00pm on nights when live bands are performing. Drop in during their happy hour between 8:00pm and 10:00pm for two-for-one cocktails.
Bar Club La Chavanne
With a stunning backdrop of Mont Blanc, this bar is situated on the piste at La Flégère and is a trendy place to meet up with mates for drinks whilst listening to weekly DJ’s spinning deep house and lounge music.
The Pub
This friendly English pub is the go-to place during sporting events, so if you want to catch a game while in Chamonix, The Pub is the place to cheer on your favourite team with other patrons over a pint or two. If you need a break from the big screens, wander out to the heated terrace, where you’ll find a perfect place to people watch.
O’Byrne’s
Located in Hotel La Vallée Blanche, this Irish pub is a nice, quiet and friendly place to hang out with mates while sampling some fine Irish malt whiskeys.
