Conservative Leadership Exploratory Committee Launched in Support of Dr. Dan Lindsay as the Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC)
(firmenpresse) - WINNIPEG, MANITOBA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/25/16 -- A Committee of prominent Canadians including long term Conservative Betty Unger, Alberta Senator and Dr. Francois Theriault of Quebec has been formed to support and promote the possible leadership bid of Dr. Dan Lindsay of Winnipeg, Manitoba for the Conservative Party of Canada. The Committee will assist in supporting Dr. Lindsay and in reaching out to Conservative members across Canada. It is the committee''s belief that Dr. Lindsay is uniquely positioned to unite and grow the party regaining the confidence of all Canadians in preparation for the next federal election.
Dr. Lindsay is a lifelong Conservative party loyalist and a distinguished senior physician and administrator. In his 35 year career, he has held many senior medical leadership positions, including the President of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, a position for which he is again President-Elect. Dr. Lindsay has significant business experience in establishing, growing and directing a successful network of diagnostic imaging facilities. Through his commitment to and appreciation for the Canadian Armed Forces, Dr. Lindsay served on five tours as a civilian medical specialist at the International Security Assistance Force Military Hospital in Kandahar during the war in the Afghanistan.
Dr. Lindsay believes that: "The Conservative Party is based upon common values that all Canadians share: the opportunity to succeed and be rewarded for hard work; to care for ourselves, our families and for those that are less fortunate; and to promote a Government that respects and manages tax dollars prudently". Dr. Lindsay brings a wealth of experience and common sense to the leadership contest. He understands what leadership is. He has lived it throughout his career, through experience ranging from active participation on national boards and provincial regulatory authorities, to working with professional and business interests in both urban and rural environments. When Canada needed the expertise of medical professionals to fulfill our international responsibility in the war in Afghanistan, Dr. Lindsay left the comfort of Canada and volunteered without hesitation.
"The commitment and leadership qualities demonstrated by Dr. Lindsay are fundamental to the grass roots of the Conservative Party, and is why the Committee has been formed to support Dr. Lindsay in his leadership campaign," said Senator Betty Unger.
