(firmenpresse) - The international music competition for composers and songwriters Euro Vision Song Contest exist since 1956. The performers themselves received no award, only the increased prominence remains them after this contest. Only with participating in the ESC succeeded the major breakthrough from international artists such as ABBA, with their song “Waterloo” in 1974. Even Celine Dion, who won in 1988 with her song "Ne pas sans moi partez", was then known in Europe.
Nicole was the first German who won in 1982 with " Ein bisschen Frieden” (A bit of peace) the Euro Vision Song Contest in Harrogate, Great Britain for Germany. Only in 2010, Germany won a second time at the Euro Vision Song contest with the song "Satellite", which was interpreted by Lena Meyer-Landrut.
This year''s preselection for the 61st Euro Vision Song Contest, was held on 25th February 2016 in Cologne, where the 17-year-old Jamie-Lee Kriewitz scored the first place with her song "Ghost". About 4.47 million viewers watched the big TV spectacle. Around 500,000 voted for Jamie-Lee, who convinced with her extravagant manga outfit, an imposing stage scenery with full moon and spectacular laser trees. As the presenter Barbara Schoeneberger already mentioned several times in the live broadcast, this was the most complex stage of the evening. The renowned stage designers Stephan Aue and Bertil Mark were responsible for this impressive backdrop. The specially designed laser beam trees were built for the winner three times this evening. In all, 24 green laser modules (520nm) from the company
LPS-Lasersysteme were installed on the trees for a great production of laser beams and a perfect stage design. As if by magic shone the laser beams from the branches of the trees into the stage sky and gave the whole performance an exceptionally charming touch.
