(firmenpresse) - Düsseldorf. Palmers, a traditional Austrian retail brand, is a global innovation and market leader for lingerie and underwear. The company with more than 200 subsidiaries in Austria is also present in 15 countries. Due to the reorganisation of the company’s warehouse management system, Palmers switched from paper delivery notes to a wireless data operation. The first order, picking devices Palmers tried to work with, were not bringing in the results they were expecting. Therefore, the lingerie producer turned to BARCOTEC, reseller for DENSO WAVE products in Austria, to help introduce new barcode handheld terminals for Palmers’ storage and logistics warehouses. BARCOTEC is a leading supplier in Austria for auto-ID solutions and data capturing systems.

Palmers opted for the BHT-1300 barcode handheld terminal, manufactured by DENSO WAVE, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code and FrameQR Code. The BHT-series is intended for mobile data capture in storage, logistics, point-of-sale (POS) as well as production and field & sales force automation environments. The device was tested intensively by Palmers on-site and stood up against various competitive products. All the best features of the BHT-1300 – light weight, intuitive handling, easily readable display and extraordinary high scanning speed, proved to be crucial factors over the competition. Further information on the QR Code, scanners, mobile data capture, and DENSO Auto-ID can be found here: www.denso-autoid-eu.com.

With its innovative “Advanced Scan Plus” technology, scanners and barcode handheld terminals manufactured by DENSO WAVE, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code and FrameQR Code, are able to scan with exceptionally high speed and from very long distances. Thereby reducing working time by up to 30 percent compared to conventional devices used for storage, logistics, POS as well as production and field & sales force automation. DENSO WAVE, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code and FrameQR Code, has developed a special, very precise mobile data capture software which is used by the BHT-1300 and other DENSO WAVE units. “Our warehouse workers appreciate the new devices, because they are saving working time. The change led to a burst of motivation,” the warehouse management of Palmers confirmed. All of the processes like inventory, picking, stockpiling as well as goods receipt and goods issue were accelerated noticeably.

Alexander Rainsberger, director of BARCOTEC, said, “Palmers is a long-standing customer of BARCOTEC. Due to the change to a paperless warehouse management system, the company improved its productivity significantly. All of this in combination with the modern hardware has led to an evolutionary improvement of their work flows.” Furthermore, the BHT-1300’s easily readable colour display was seen as a major enhancement and led to a further gain in efficiency. Making the warehouse workers familiar with the BHT-1300 barcode handheld terminal, manufactured by DENSO WAVE, part of the Toyota Group and inventor of the QR Code and FrameQR Code, took just a short period of time due to the easy and intuitive handling of the terminal. Thus, all tasks at the storage and logistic warehouses of Palmers were carried out without any interruption and delivery was always on-time during the adjustment process. Since 1949, DENSO has been cooperating with Toyota as a supplier for all electrical and electronic assemblies. The subsidiary DENSO WAVE invented the QR Code and also develops identification systems, scanners and devices for mobile data collection. QR Codes make it possible to code around 7,000 numerals, alphabetical characters, different symbols, Japanese, Chinese or Korean characters, and binary data. For the European market, DENSO Auto-ID Business Unit is the contact for QR Codes, mobile data capture and scanners. The durable and robust scanners manufactured by DENSO are used in storage, logistics, POS, production, field & sales automation.
