Three years after its launch, SmartReno further establishes itself as the Canadian leader in the lead generation space for home renovation projects, announcing the acquisition of its main competitor Zoomission and a third round of financing.
SmartReno acquires Zoomission and strengthens its leadership position
With the Zoomission acquisition, SmartReno reaches a significant milestone in its development.
Since 2009, Zoomission became a top-of-mind destination for homeowners in Quebec that want to find trusted contractors for their renovation projects. A pioneer in the industry, Zoomission now receives close to 20,000 projects annually and has an extensive network of over 2,500 qualified service providers.
The Zoomission service is complementary to SmartReno. Which is why the current Zoomission site will be maintained, and its service offering to both homeowners and contractors will continue to be developed and enhanced. SmartReno will also replicate this model across the rest of Canada.
In the process, the entire Zoomission team joined SmartReno. Dominic Morin, Zoomission''s founder, is also investing in the company and will continue to be actively involved.
Already present across Canada and Germany, SmartReno strengthens, with this acquisition, its leader status in Canada, handling of over 40,000 project requests per year, with an aggregate value exceeding $200 million and an exclusive network of more than 5,000 handpicked contractors.
SmartReno concludes a third financing round to fuel its growth
Angel investors Pierre Fleurent, Martin-Luc Archambault, Mike Cegelski and Daniel Robichaud, as well as Anges Quebec Capital, recently completed a $1.6 million financing round to continue with the company''s expansion.
Part of these funds will be applied towards the Zoomission acquisition. SmartReno will use the remaining funds to continue its growth in Canada and internationally. The company is currently working on several strategic partnerships to complement its service offering and increase its market presence in the coming months.
In addition, SmartReno just unveiled a new design for its website, as well as a dashboard intended for its contractor network ; a tool allowing them to efficiently manage their projects.
