(firmenpresse) - After some days’ feedback collection, Jagex revealed the new special attacks for Abyssal bludgeon and Abyssal Dagger in Old School Runescape yesterday, which removes original bleed attack. However, new special attacks seem not so satisfying for most players and unworthy for rs 2007 gold spending.
New special attacks for Abyssal bludgeon and Abyssal Dagger
There is no controversy on the changed spec of both two abyssal weapons, whereas, both new special attacks have accepted lots of complaints. Typically, the bleed effect of double accuracy was removed from two weapons. Instead, they are added with small damage.
1. Abyssal bludgeon: it costs 50% special attack energy and increases damage dealt by 0.3% for every prayer point that you are missing, meaning 99 missing prayer points will grant you 29.7% damage increase.
2. Abyssal Dagger: it costs 50% special attack energy and hits twice in quick succession with 15% reduced damage. If the first hit deals damage, so will the second. But if the first hit misses, the second one won’t cause damage, either.
The special attacks make Abyssal weapons be useless
Firstly when talking about the abyssal bludgeon, it has only + 85 strength and a maximum bonus of +33% extra damage (at which point you would lose damage boosts from prayer). But in contrast, AGS is also two handed weapon like the bludgeon, but has a +132 strength bonus and a special attack that does 37.5% extra damage. Thus, it seems that the special attack on Abyssal bludgeon is pointless.
Secondly, the Abyssal Dagger seems not so important with existence of the Dragon Dagger. The Abyssal Dagger takes more energy and is considerably weaker than the DDS. What’s more, the special attack brings it no accuracy bonus and a higher chance of missing hit.
Slayer expansion is a big project that needs much effort
Slayer expansion is a long-standing important topic in Old School Runescape. However, it seems not so easy to complete this big project which has been changed for many times. Since its introduction in May, players have provided many suggestions to fix slayer more potential; then, after the addition of abyssal weapons, more different voices appeared to ask for new special attacks. Now we eventually get the changed special attacks, but they are different from what are expected. It seems that great work and effort will be required to make a better slayer.
