(firmenpresse) - Auburn Hills, Michigan, April 7, 2015 – BorgWarner will showcase its expertise and latest advancements in drivetrain technologies at the 12th European All-Wheel Drive Congress to be held in Graz, Austria, on April 16 - 17, 2015. During the keynote address, Dr. Stefan Demmerle, President and General Manager, BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems, will provide his insights on the latest trends in all-wheel drive (AWD) technologies. Three technical lectures on advanced friction, compact torque vectoring and AWD technologies will also be presented by BorgWarner engineers. In addition, BorgWarner will display a wide range of its innovative solutions at the accompanying exhibition. With more than 250 international participants, the European All-Wheel Drive Congress is considered one of the most important European events for current and future developments in drivetrain technologies.
“We are proud to share our expertise at the European All-Wheel Drive Congress in 2015 as keynote speaker, lecturer and exhibitor,” said Dr. Demmerle. “BorgWarner provides a wide range of advanced transmission, AWD and chain technologies that contribute to enhanced vehicle traction, improved driving dynamics and fuel economy.”
At this year’s European All-Wheel Drive Congress, BorgWarner will present three applied lectures about innovative technologies entitled “Next Generation Organic Friction Elements for AWD Applications”, “Compact Torque Vectoring (cTV)” and “High Efficient On-demand Electro-Hydraulic Transfer Case”.
BorgWarner will also showcase its advanced drivetrain technologies such as high-performance friction materials and HY-VO® drivetrain chain systems, as well as its FWD eLSD technology (FXD) at the accompanying exhibition. BorgWarner’s friction materials with specially designed grooves integrated into the friction lining for oil flow and cooling provide very low losses at the clutch in the open state, enabling high transmission efficiency and smooth shifting capability while increasing fuel economy. With its random chain technology, BorgWarner’s HY-VO chain features two different tooth shapes designed to reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). BorgWarner’s FXD technology significantly improves vehicle handling, traction and stability in extreme driving conditions by generating a controlled locking torque of up to 100 percent between the left and right front wheels.
