UL presents services for adjustable speed motor drives and HazLoc at SPS IPC Drives 2014 in Nuremberg
Streamlined certification for faster global market access
(PresseBox) - UL - the world''s leading product safety expert - has announced that it will present its comprehensive certification services for international markets at SPS IPC Drives 2014. Of particular interest to drive manufacturers are UL/IEC 61800-5-1 for adjustable speed motor drives, a bundled ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO audit for IEC hazardous locations standards, as well as UL/IEC 61010-2-201 for PLCs and other control equipment. To assist visitors in meeting their specific needs for faster global market access, UL is offering free individual consultations at their stand in Hall 9, Stand 157.
At SPS IPC Drives 2014, the trade fair for electrical automation technology in Nuremberg from 25-27 November 2014, UL International Germany will highlight the cost and time advantages of using bundled product certification.
One example is UL/IEC 61800-5-1, which provides market access to Europe, North America and Asia for adjustable speed motor drives through one test program. UL - the certification leader in North America for adjustable speed drives - is accredited by the Conformity Assessment (CB/IECEE) scheme to issue globally valid approvals.
Another highlight will be advice on products to be used in explosive environments. As a Notified Body for the ATEX Directive, UL assists companies in speedily obtaining the EX certification required by the EU. UL further offers a globally accepted, bundled ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO audit for IEC hazardous locations standards.
UL is hosting a free webinar on UL 61800-5-1 and on the new ATEX directive (2014/34/EU) in December. Staff at the stand can provide information about how to sign up.
Of further interest to visitors may be UL/IEC 61010-2-201, a single, globally applicable test process enabling complete UL and IEC product certification for PLCs and other control equipment.
Visitors interested in the specifics of entering certain markets can also look forward to getting practical tips. For instance, UL will present an overview of the certification process for Brazil and which requirements need to be fulfilled in order for electronic and electro-technical products to receive the INMETRO approval mark.
