Atlanta Brave Craig Kimbrel Hosts Exclusive Concert November 7
(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 10/09/14 -- The legendary Ricky Skaggs plus some of country music''s rising stars will raise the roof at Atlanta''s Fox Theatre during the second annual Cowboy Boots Bash set for Friday, November 7. Atlanta Braves All-Star pitcher Craig Kimbrel and his wife will host the private concert benefiting the Atlanta-based charity Curing Kids Cancer.
Nashville recording artists Meghan Linsey and Haley & Michaels will join the 14-time Grammy winner on stage at the Fox''s lavish Egyptian ballroom. Along with an evening filled with boot-stomping country music, the $150 per person admission includes dinner, drinks and an auction. Purchase tickets online at .
Kimbrel and his wife Ashley also hosted last year''s Cowboy Boots Bash which netted some $35,000 for the charity which funds cutting-edge pediatric cancer research. Grainne and Clay Owen founded Curing Kids Cancer in 2004 in memory of their young son Killian who lost his battle with leukemia a year earlier. Kimbrel, a Braves closing pitcher, serves as chairman of Players Curing Kids Cancer. He donates $100 for every save and $25 for every strikeout. So far, he''s given $15,000.
"God gave me the ability to play baseball at the highest level," Kimbrel said. "So, I feel fortunate that I can give back and help others. This year''s concert gives us all a chance to give back, make difference in funding childhood cancer research -- and have a good time! This year''s lineup of musical talent will make it a night to remember."
"Craig and Ashley Kimbrel are ''all-in'' when it comes to finding a cure for kids'' cancer," said Curing Kids Cancer founder Grainne Owen. "They spend time with kids who are battling cancer, donate generously to research and have now helped create one of Atlanta''s premier charity events."
To date, Curing Kids Cancer has raised more than $5 million -- money that will hopefully make childhood cancer a thing of the past.
