HMi Concepts for Autonomous Driving | Augmented Reality | Voice Control & Speech Recognition | Multimodal Interface Management

(firmenpresse) - Nowadays Human Machine Interfaces (HMis) provide both safe and enjoyable driving. In order to improve interaction between drivers and their vehicles, the automotive industry is going through a Human Machine Interface revolution to change the way drivers and passengers interact with their cars.
In this regard, we.CONECT is hosting again the annual Car HMi concepts & systems conference in Berlin dealing with strategic approaches and new technologies on how to improve developments, concepts & systems in automotive HMi, manage an increasing application infrastructure in the car and create the ultimate user experience design. Following keynotes from major global operating companies are part of the speakers panel of this years Car HMi concepts & systems:
Massachusetts Institute of Technology | Dr. Bryan Reimer, Research Scientist, AgeLab, is going to address driver attention with the modern Mixed Mode Interface. During his Case Study he will showcase observations from field studies, implications for the future of automated driving and current research efforts to develop empirical HMi evaluation system that emphasizes driver attention management across the various modalities.
Israel General Motors – Research & Development | Dr. Yael Shmueli-Friedland, Senior Researcher Advanced Technical Center, will refer on In-vehicle Multimodal Interaction and how drivers can combine speech and touch in their vehicle. She is going to provide information on the use of Wizard of Oz (WoZ) methodology for investigating cultural differences in drivers’ multimodal interaction.
Volkswagen AG | Dr. Frank Althoff, Group Head HMI / Operating Concepts, thematizes Modular HMi Development with regard to international market requirements by putting out the importance of automotive HMi as an emotional and brand-shaping element. Moreover he is going to speak about multidimensional challenges in flexible in-house HMi development and iterated user-centered evaluation.
