Food Bank, Pantry, Klehm Arboretum Benefit From Bank's Employee Volunteer Day
(firmenpresse) - ROCKFORD, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/13 -- Employees of BMO Harris Bank partnered with over 50 organizations throughout Illinois for their largest annual Employee Volunteer Day yet. During the week of June 3, over 1,600 Illinois employees took time away from their desk to volunteer at various nonprofits throughout their community.
Over 50 employees Rockford rolled up their sleeves to help their community and those in need.
Employee volunteers spent their day working at the Rock River Valley Pantry, helping sort and inspect goods, repackage dry goods, and tend to the pantry's produce garden beds.
Volunteers at the Northern Illinois Food Bank in Loves Park also sorted and packaged donated food for distribution to food pantries, soup kitchens and other feeding programs in Northern Illinois Food Bank's network.
Through the weekend, employees will also be volunteering at the Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, assisting visitors during their annual Garden Fair.
