Calgary Food Bank: Lucky Number 13 for the 2013 Empty Bowl Benefit
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/10/13 -- Local Calgary celebrities are gathering together to design, paint, and fill bowls with goodies for the 13th annual Empty Bowl Benefit supporting the Calgary Food Bank's J.P. Morgan Foodlink program.
Musicians, artists, athletes, community leaders and media personalities are invited to paint ceramic bowls in unique and creative ways. The keepsake bowls are then auctioned online and many painters add swag to their creative to entice bidders.
The online auction opens 6 PM on Wednesday, May 1st at and runs until May 15th at 11:59 PM. The Empty Bowl Benefit is an annual event that has raised more than $12,000 in the past 12 years.
Thirty years ago Calgary changed the way emergency food was provided to people in need.
Today, the continues this spirit of collaboration by working with more than 100 local agencies to support people through difficult times.
