Songwon appoints Thomas Schmutz as Director of Global Technical Service
Ulsan, Korea – April 2, 2013 – Songwon Industrial Group (www.songwon.com) has announced that as of April 1, Thomas Schmutz has taken over the role of Director of Global Technical Service from Joachim Bayer, who moves into a strategic business management role. Songwon is committed to becoming the supplier of choice through delivering better quality, better service and better value making this position critical to the success of their continued global growth agenda.
(firmenpresse) - Thomas will be responsible for leading the Technical Service Team, providing technical direction for our entire product range – antioxidants, light stabilizers, acid scavengers, PVC stabilizers, tin intermediates, plasticizers, lubricants, surface coating agents, polyurethanes, alkylphenols, biphenols and flocculants - and supporting the commercial organization in implementing value propositions and new product introductions. This global role will also encompass understanding customers’ needs, both from existing key customers and/or new customers and markets, and converting them into new and effective solutions.
Dieter Morath, Executive Vice President Global Sales and Member of the Songwon Industrial Group Executive Committee, said: ”Thomas will replace Joachim Bayer who, in line with Songwon’s policy of providing a platform for career growth, is moving to a broader role in business management. Thomas has a wealth of experience throughout the polymer industry and will be charged with leading our efforts to ensure our customers continue to receive the best in class support in using our extensive portfolio of solutions. The recent addition of OPS (One Pack Systems) products will be a major global focus for Thomas following our announcement of the start up of additional manufacturing facilities in Houston, USA in April of this year and Kizad, Abu Dhabi early 2014.”
Thomas joins Songwon having held senior leadership positions most recently at Chemtura Europe, Ciba Specialty Chemicals and Dow Europe and holds a degree in Polymer Engineering & Science from the Montan University (Austria).
