It Only Takes a Minute to "Give Where You Live" to Support the Senior Assistance Center on Colorado Gives Day Tuesday, December 4, 2012
(firmenpresse) - DENVER, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/03/12 -- announces it is a proud participant of Colorado Gives Day 2012 -- an initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving to Colorado charities. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is a 24-hour period to "Give Where You Live" by making online donations to the hundreds of charities featured on Community First Foundation's online giving resource, GivingFirst.org. As a profiled charity on GivingFirst.org, the Senior Assistance Center will benefit from this initiative.
"After reeling from the 'sticker' shock at the checkout counter this weekend, I can't help but wonder how our seniors are going to make it through these times of higher food prices. I know we are all feeling this crunch and we now have an opportunity to help through COLORADO GIVES DAY!
"Our vulnerable seniors are struggling to decide whether to buy food, pay utilities, rent or medication. Fortunately, the Senior Assistance Center is here to help. And fortunately... generous people like you are here to support the basic needs of the seniors we serve.
"We are keenly aware that we have a segment of our society known as the 'hidden hungry.' Seniors, who are limited by income and mobility, still need food, shelter and medications. Often times they are too proud to share their need with the people around them. We, at the Senior Assistance Center, have a caring and experienced staff of seniors available to respond to the needs of other seniors. After doing this work for more than 31 years, we understand the difficulties our clients face each and every day.
