Susan G. Komen Los Angeles Announces Pink Diamond Award Recipients: Veteran KCAL News Anchor Sylvia Lopez and Pam Kehaly, President of Anthem Blue Cross

Komen Los Angeles today announced the recipients of the Pink Diamond Award, which acknowledges the contributions of Los Angeles leaders who champion breast cancer causes on an extraordinary level. KCAL news anchor Sylvia Lopez and Anthem Blue Cross President Pam Kehaly will each receive a Pink Diamond Award at the Designs for the Cure Gala on Oct. 13 at the Millennium Biltmore.
Lopez is an award-winning journalist who has been reporting the news on Los Angeles television for 25 years. She currently co-anchors KCAL 9's weekday 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. newscasts. Her longstanding commitment to Susan G. Komen has made her a recognizable advocate for breast health issues across LA County. Her mother's own breast cancer diagnosis several years ago only increased her efforts to educate women about breast cancer issues, and deepened her dedication to events like Race for the Cure.
"It's been my privilege to be part of the Race for the Cure for 13 years," said Lopez. "The people in the LA Komen office were there for me as my mother battled breast cancer. They are family to me. I want to honor each and every one of them, so I am truly moved to have been chosen to receive the Pink Diamond Award."
As the President of Anthem Blue Cross, Pam Kehaly knows that providing women with education and information about breast health and important screenings is key to helping empower women to be proactive about their health and wellness.

Tickets are on sale now for the 2nd annual Susan G. Komen Los Angeles gala, hosted by television personality, fashion designer and author, Lauren Conrad. The gala brings together the world of fashion, celebrities and cancer survivors at the Millennium Biltmore on Saturday, Oct. 13 to raise funds for breast cancer screening, education and treatment in Los Angeles County. Kehaly and Lopez will be honored during the Gala as recipients of the Pink Diamond Award.
Tickets are $250/per person or $2,500/per 10-person table, which includes full dinner, cocktail reception and access to all event activities and a swag bag, valued at close to $400.
