InterMed Expands Breadth of Services in Southern Maine
Premier Multi-Specialty Healthcare Provider Hosts Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for Yarmouth Health Center Expansion, Announces the Addition of a Pediatric Practice in South Portland
(firmenpresse) - YARMOUTH, ME and SOUTH PORTLAND, ME -- (Marketwire) -- 07/12/12 -- InterMed, a premier Maine-based healthcare provider, today announced significant progress in its efforts to accommodate increasing patient demand and offer a greater range of specialty practices in Southern Maine. Today, InterMed marked the completion of an extensive renovation and expansion project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its 259 Main Street location in Yarmouth Village.
As a part of the project at its Yarmouth Health Center, InterMed added more than 10,000 square feet to the facility. The added space will house their new OB/GYN practice, in addition to an expansion of its existing family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and physical therapy practices. The village-themed campus features a clock tower, coordinated access and circulation, pedestrian pathways and landscaping, including 13 October Red Glory trees dedicated to the Rowe School kindergarten and first-grade classes. InterMed physicians and staff collaborated with the developer, town officials and the community to design patient-focused office space and exam rooms.
InterMed also announced the addition of a pediatric practice at its 100 Foden Road location in South Portland. Effective Aug. 1, pediatricians Kristen Haddon, Andrew Tenenbaum and Margaret Zamboni, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Karen Weiss will join InterMed from the University of New England's University Health Care for Kids Practice in Portland. Entering a community partnership with the university, InterMed will expand and support pediatric services with a ready supply of physicians, health care professionals and students seeking training and employment opportunities.
