Attend Selects CloudSigma’s IaaS to Power its MediaCloud and Content Ingest Network for Media Professionals

Palo Alto, Calif – January 17, 2012: CloudSigma, the only international, customer-centric, pure-cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, today announced that Attend LLC, a provider of cloud services for media professionals, has selected CloudSigma to support its MediaCloud online media storage and collaboration environment and Content Ingest Network accelerated media file upload. Attend selected CloudSigma because of its flexible and customizable approach to the cloud, as well as its ability to support the various high-performing applications required by media professionals during content creation.
Attend’s MediaCloud and Content Ingest Network are designed for professionals in the advertising, broadcasting and film industries that work with very large files of high-res, longer form content. Because these files can get so large – often times reaching hundreds of GBs if not TBs on a single project – the upload and download times and transcoding process can become very lengthy, delaying productivity and production. While Attend’s cloud services helps media professionals overcome these issues, they require a very robust supporting infrastructure like that of CloudSigma’s to sustain the applications high-performance needs, both for input and output, and processing.

As part of its flexible and customizable approach, CloudSigma also provides Attend with full networking control, enabling the company to run its Content Ingest Network within CloudSigma’s cloud – something that is not possible with other IaaS providers. This allows Attend customers to better and more easily transfer large data volumes quickly and at a low cost. By exposing such features and giving customers control over their networking capabilities, CloudSigma is the only IaaS provider to enable such powerful services to be run in a public cloud.
Attend is using CloudSigma’s infrastructure in Zurich, Switzerland and Las Vegas to support content acceleration. The company will also be releasing a new version of its MediaCloud software this month, which will also be powered by CloudSigma. The new version will allow the service to be released on a massive scale, which was only possible because of CloudSigma’s robust infrastructure. The previous software version only allowed individual accounts.
