Marriott expands into China: 25 new hotels in the pipeline

Marriott continues to accelerate in China: The largest project of the US hotel chain is the Macao Studio City Marriott Hotel (TOPHOTELPROJECTS Project Nr. 1.957) with 968 rooms. The casino hotel will be located alongside the famous Cotauis Strip of the gaming megacity and is due to open in autumn 2014.
In the former Portuguese colony Macau gaming is a traditional leisure-time activity. At present there are a variety of large-scale projects by the hotel chains Starwood Hotels & Resorts (among others Sheraton and St. Regis), Hilton Worldwide (with Conrad), Marriott Int. and Four Seasons in the pipeline.
Marriott International, ranked fourth largest hotel group worldwide, has recently inaugurated the 56th hotel in China: The JW Marriott Hotel Shenyang offers 345 rooms. In a couple of years from now Marriott Int. foresees to operate some 100 hotels in the Asian tiger economy.

According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS Marriott International further expands and develops at present more than 25 new hotels with more than 8,900 rooms in China. Considering all brands more than 230 projects with more than 56.000 rooms are on their way to be built.
