Karlsruhe, August 2011 - The 'Karlsruhe Model' is something the city and
region can be particularly proud of. The transport concept, which combines
use of urban local transport with the rail network in the region, had
captured worldwide attention. The cooperation between the two transport
companies VBK (Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe) and AVG
(Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft) has an international model character and, by
commissioning their joint control center, they have achieved a further
milestone. The Karlsruhe branch office of euromicron solutions GmbH is
working with WEY Technology AG to design the high-tech system solution. 'In
fertile collaboration between two technology leaders, a cutting-edge
control room for consistent monitoring and control of the entire enterprise
network of VBK and AVG has been created,' says Gerhard Schönhoff, Managing
Director of euromicron solutions.

ergonomics and ensuring permanent and consistent monitoring and control of
the joint enterprise network.'
Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) is tasked with running and maintaining
public transport in the city of Karlsruhe. Over an area of 173 km2, it
conveys more than 110 million passengers a year.
Founded more than 50 years ago, Albtal-Verkehrs-Gesellschaft mbH (AVG) has
an urban rail network of almost 460 km in length, making it the
second-largest rail company in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. AVG
is responsible for local transport in the Karlsruhe region and carries
around 70 million passengers a year.
WEY Technology AG is the specialist for turnkey trading floors and control
