(firmenpresse) - SAUSALITO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/28/11 -- Alta Mira is pleased to announce that Cherlyne Short Majors, Ph.D. has joined the treatment center as their new Executive Director. A highly accomplished and well respected behavioral healthcare professional, Dr. Majors has over 24 years of experience at prestigious treatment facilities such as the Betty Ford Center, Cirque Lodge, and Charter Behavioral where she held executive-level positions.

Dr. Majors has two master's degrees from Southern Methodist University and a doctorate from the International University of Graduate Studies in New York where she completed her Ph.D. in Addiction Studies as well as post-graduate training in Family Systems Theory. A Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, she is also a Master Addiction Counselor (National) and licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (Texas).
