Research project in steelworks with InfraTec participation completed
(PresseBox) - After 3 years of cooperative research and with InfraTec participation an international joint project, officially named ?Resource-saving and sustainable production of high-quality steel by enhanced on-line control of stirring efficiency in vacuum degassing? (BMBF project no: 0330848A/B), has been completed successfully. Within the project work, especially with the studies at the Austrian partner BÖHLER Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG, a number of practical experiences using high-performance infrared thermography technology under extremely demanding ambient conditions was gained. The useful insights that were obtained together with VDEh-Betriebsforschungsinstitut (BFI) in Düsseldorf will be made available for other steelwork plants, too. Specific enquiries have already been received.

InfraTec founded in 1991 meanwhile has its own manufacturing and development facilities and employs more than 170 people. In the sensor department customized components, especially pyro-electric infrared detectors, are produced on 1,000 m² clean room space for customers from all over the world. The infrared measurement department works in all application fields of thermography and provides the full range of services from selling infrared cameras up to delivering turnkey infrared automation solution and IR systems.
