Donaueschingen ? July 11, 2011. Canvys - Visual Technology Solutions is expanding its product portfolio in the area of panel PCs to include the new True Flat series for the industrial and POS sector.
The True Flat Panel PC series is impressive with its stylish aluminum housing and excellent PC performance. The wide format panel PCs have a touch screen and are available with diagonals of 7? to 21.5?. The resistive touch screen recognizes simple gestures such as wiping movements and can be operated with gloves or a pen. Additional models with projected capacitive touch sensors are currently being developed and will be available soon.
The fanless design and the ultra thin aluminum housing with a piano varnish appearance and a thickness of less than 48 mm predestine the panel PCs for use in POS, POI, medical or digital signage applications. The PCs meet the requirements of IP54 on the front side and are therefore water- and dustproof.
The standard panel PCs are delivered with an Intel Atom D525 processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz. The built-in main board offers 2 DDR3 SO-DIMM slots and supports up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. Furthermore, the board has a mini PCI-E slot e.g. for WLAN adapter cards and countless interfaces such as USB 2.0, RS232, Gigabit ethernet, VGA and audio. A 2.5? SATA hard disk with 160 GB is used as the storage medium, which can also be replaced with a CF card or an SSD (solid state drive).
Besides Linux, all the common Windows operating systems such as Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are supported.
The True Flat Panel PCs are equipped with an energy-saving design, which facilitates low energy consumption of 35 watts for normal use.
The VESA adapters on the backside of the housing make it easy to assemble the panel PCs on a stand or bracket.
Optional accessories include a webcam, an RFID reader, a magnet card reader and a 2D scanner.
