Countdown to the new domain .reise is on
Deadline for first registrations on April 30, 2011
(firmenpresse) - Bendestorf (April 7th, 2011) - We are on the verge of the next Internet revolution. The domain suffixes .de, .com and .net are about to get some competition: New top-level domains, such as .berlin, .shop, and .reise, will pave the way for new Internet addresses. These new name spaces are scheduled to go online in summer 2012.
Travel agents and tour operators are encouraged to take action now; the opening day for sales is April 30, 2011, which is when dotreise GmbH will allocate the first reservation rights for the new .reise domains. We have already received hundreds of applications. "Generic names like www.kreuzfahrt.reise and www.flug.reise are in particular demand", says Axel Schwiersch, CEO of dotreise GmbH. ".reise domains are the best opportunity to be found in search-engine top rankings, and they are easy for the customer to remember." So far, all domains in the new name-space are still available, even www.last-minute.reise, Schwiersch assures. "Travel agents and tour operators alike have an incredible opportunity to choose their tailored domain name for their specific areas of concentration and thus to get top rankings on search engines. What about www.wellness-mallorca.reise?" At the outset only sponsors of dotreise have a priority right to reserve their favourite domain name. To make this opportunity accessible to smaller companies, sponsoring packages are offered for just EUR 1,500, plus VAT. Sponsoring helps to finance the establishment and operation of the .reise top-level domain.
The .reise name-space is made available through the Internet authority ICANN, headquartered in California. Dotreise GmbH spearheaded the .reise top-level domain on behalf of all companies in the tourism industry and has been working on the preparation for over a year. The new .reise name-space is expected to be live by mid-2012.
