viimagic GmbH expands its product portfolio by the new global shutter HDTV sensors 9221/2 and 9225/6.

The new feature-rich 2 Megapixel sensors in 2/3” optical format exhibit uncompromised full 1080p HD even under low-light conditions at frame rates up to 240 fps. With DDS (correlated Digital Double Sampling) processing, frame rates up to 120 fps are achievable. Operated in HDR (high dynamic range) operational modes the new viimagic product realizes a dynamic range of more than 120 dB.
The CMOS device incorporates a fully integrated high-speed control unit that is programmable via SPI interface. This concept offers equipment manufacturers increased flexibility and ease of implementation. It allows for faster system integration time as well as reduced BOM cost for peripheral components compared to traditional designs.
The global shutter product line is offered in two packages:
BGA-108 package:
• 9221A: monochrome sensor
• 9222A: color sensor
µPGA-185 ceramic package:
• 9225A: monochrome sensor
• 9226A: color sensor
