Original1 opens office in Beijing and begins roll-out of its solution for the mobile authentication of identity documents in China
(PresseBox) - Frankfurt/Beijing, November 30, 2010 ? the joint venture Original1 is celebrating the foundation of its first foreign branch with the grand opening of its office in Beijing. This is the result of the expansion of the Software-as-a-Service range to include the authentication of identity documents in China.
As the provider of the leading platform for product information for brand protection, Original1 is a thought leader in the market. Its self-developed Global Brand Protection Service offers a complete service for tracking and authenticating products. This allows manufacturers and brand owners to protect their products against infringements of trademark and intellectual property law throughout the entire production and delivery process.
The combined expertise and innovative technologies of the founding companies offer a solid foundation with three pillars: proven back-end technology from SAP, mobile management from Nokia and the latest security technology from Giesecke&Devrient.
By founding Original1 Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., the joint venture, based in Frankfurt am Main, is expanding its business field into the Chinese market. The company, in existence as of February 1, will allow identity documents in China to be authenticated via mobile telephone in the future. To do this, Chinese citizens can install the Original1 application on their mobile telephones and then use the mobile phone?s camera to easily check the authenticity of identity documents. Original1 is working together with the Chinese data provider ID5 on this project. ID5 has the exclusive right to provide identity data in the People?s Republic.
Next year, the range of solutions in China will also include an authenticity check for products. Original1 is thus making an active contribution to fighting product and brand piracy.
