SGTE Power, Marubeni and INKA Engineering can look back on a successful trade show appearance at the eCarTec 2010 in Munich. DC Quick Charger was nominated for the eCarTec Award.

(firmenpresse) - Customers and prospects from Germany and numerous other European countries made their way to the joint booth of the French manufacturer of DC quick chargers SGTE Power and its partners Marubeni Corporation and INKA Engineering GmbH. „The interest of the visitors was huge and exceeded all our expectations“, said Jochen Kassebohm from INKA Engineering, German representative of Marubeni Corporation.

This positive result reflects the growing need for innovative solutions for the fast charging of electric vehicles such as SGTE’s CHAdeMO certified DC quick charger. The charger allows drivers to recharge their EV within just 5 minutes to achieve an additional range of 30 – 40 km. A complete ‚refuel‘ (80%) takes some 30 minutes only - charging times with which conventional AC chargers cannot compete. In this way DC quick charging can be an important contribution to the success of electric mobility since it relieves drivers from ‚range anxiety‘, ensures a more efficient use of electric vehicles and thus makes electric mobility generally more attractive.
According to the three companies, one highlight of the trade fair was the nomination of their quick charger for the eCarTec Award which was this year declared the Bavarian State Award for Electric Mobility by the government of Bavaria.
113 national and international companies applied for this year’s eCarTec awards which were handed over to the winners during a festive event on 19 October, 2010 alongside the eCarTec show. A top-class jury had chosen the most interesting submissions from seven categories, three nominees in each category. SGTE Power and Marubeni Corporation were nominated for their DC quick charger in the category „Energy, infrastructure, connection technology“. Even though another company with a different charging technology finally won the prize the manufacturer of the DC quick charger and his sales partners stay optimistic. „We will keep facing the competition for future-oriented technology in the field of charging infrastructure“, commented Koji Kurachi, Assistant Manager Production Machinery, Marubeni Corporation.
