S4M at IT Broadcast Workflow Conference
NDR presents the project "Interlinked Production at NDR Television"
(PresseBox) - After the huge success of TVB Europe's first IT Broadcast Workflow conference in December 2009, now the second IT Broadcast Workflow conference is introduced at BAFTA in London on November 30, 2010. S4M - Solutions for Media acts as a silver sponsor of the event and again will be a part of the official programme.
In a joint presentation German public broadcaster NDR (represented by NDR's Project Manager Michael Tißen and NDR's Head of Postproduction Sascha Molina) and S4M (represented by S4M's Project Manager Stefan Eckardt) will introduce the project "Interlinked Production at NDR Television".

? In 2009 the NDR in Hamburg rolled out new workflows for network- and file- based production.
? Parallel and more effective workflows provide for more programme output.
? One technical system can be used for all workflows and all programme genres.
? An overall concept for metadata (from planning to playout) was developed.
? A fully integrated file-based archive enables users to work with video material from the (long term) archives as well as up-to-date (news) material quickly and easily at any time.
The IT Broadcast Workflow Conference is a unique opportunity to learn from a variety of European broadcasters how they have incorporated file-based operation into their businesses across the chain, from ingest to delivery. This is not a theoretical discussion or white paper debate. TVB Europe puts together a packed day of dedicated end-user case studies on the migration of television broadcasting production and technology from videotape to IT platforms. IT-based production requires a change in infrastructure and the way people in TV operations work. The event provides a real-life platform for discussion of these critical current issues.
