"Every piece of meat contains a human"this was the message of the international attended press conference
(firmenpresse) - For several weeks provoked the official announcement of the opening of a human-flesh-restaurant Flimé in Berlin great attention. Not least because of bizarre advertisements in which the carrier searched for voluntary donors or open-minded surgeons as well as an E-Bay auction of a supposedly human-flesh sample. It was only yesterday that an area-wide advertising campaign took place. Today the real story merged at the press conference. The abbreviation of Flimé stands for "Fleisch isst Menschen- Meat eats Humans". With this impressive action the Vegetarian Union Germany wants to draw attention to all those of us who are affected by our worldwide meat consumption. It is for a fact that every 3,6 seconds somebody dies because of undernourishment, while the major part of the grain productions is used for the feeding of farm animals. "Nobody really thinks about those facts in their day-to-day routine. Because of that it was necessary to call this creative campaign into action" said Sebastian Zösch at the press conference this morning. It is widely known that the livestock farming is producing more green house gases than the complete transportation sector. Moreover, our meat consumption needs a great amount of water. For one kilo of beef, 15.000 liters of water are necessary. At the same time, two out of five people on our planet do not have permanent access to drinkable water. Mister Zösch stressed that through a complete meat-free nutrition we could cut our current water consumption even into half!
Furthermore, our immense meat consumption is the main reason for the clearing of the rainforest. Every minute 38 football fields are being cleared to create grazing- and pastureland. Also, epizootic pandemics and civilization diseases such as fatty liver, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic disease, gout, biliary calculi and skin diseases are directly connected with our meat consumption. Even overweight and cancer are being related. Therefore, meat is really influencing our life expectancy. In contrast does a meat free, vegetarian nutrition support health, vitality and extends our lifespan.
