(PresseBox) - The AFRISO WATCHDOG backup controller for mains water RENA controls mains water supply to rainwater tanks with connected water stations. The complete backup controller consists of a control unit with microprocessor, display and controls as well as a power outlet for connecting the water station, a probe for the rainwater tank and a solenoid valve (1/2 x 3/4) for connection to the drinking water system (e.g. tap). If, as a result of insufficient precipitation or considerable water withdrawal, the probe detects that the level in the rainwater tank has fallen below a given value, the solenoid vale is opened and fresh water from the drinking water system is supplied. In order to ensure smooth transitions from backup water supply and rainwater supply through the rainwater station without frequent switching of the valve and the power outlet, switching off is performed after delay times. Two selectable programme times are provided for regular and increased water consumption (e.g. car wash, garden irrigation). If more water is withdrawn than drinking water supplied during the pump off delay time, the power outlet switches off to keep the water station from running dry. If more water is supplied than withdrawn, the power outlet remains on. Even if the probe is in the water again after the supply, the solenoid valve only closes after a defined delay period to ensure that a supply of water for the next withdrawal is available. RENA features a safety off system that responds to leaks in the tank or the pipes. The AFRISO WATCHDOG backup controller for mains water RENA is supplied with AC 230 V and is easy and fast to commission.
